I received an email Friday afternoon from Roy's Pasadena regarding a cooking class. I took it yesterday and recommend it to anyone looking for a different way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
We prepared pulled pork, grilled Hawaiian chicken, macaroni salad and a salmon dish. After we cooked the instructor added a vegetable, rice and dessert to the menu and we ate lunch. All for $45.00 |

Would it be awkward to go by myself? Do I need a partner?
I Love Roy's and the class sounds interesting. |

Most of the attendees were with a partner, but there was one solo cook who joined my aunt and I at our lunch table. I don't think she felt awkward.

I have received their emails and been tempted. It does sound like a fun way to spend an afternoon. Thanks for the info, I will be attending this month or next.

I just took my second cooking class at Roys in Pasadena. Just in time for summer barbecues, this month features grilling techniques, barbecue sauces and rubs. The cost is $45.00 per person. You eat what the class has prepared, lunch included.

Will you prepare the homemade sauces this summer? Or do you think they are too much work. I am thinking of signing up for the grilling class.

Dan, you should sign up, you will enjoy it!
And yes, I would prepare the sauces...they aren't' that much work, it's not like I am kneading dough.... |

I hear the children & adult cooking classes at the Langham Hotel are great although probably expensive!

My daughter used to go when it was the Ritz... a decade ago, I think the class was $45 - $50 per kid, but it included lunch, unlimited sodas AND they brought home what they cooked. Such as a homemade apple pie, my daughter loved the classes.
